Heading down to the Waterfront after receiving a tip that multiple trees belonging to Waterfront Toronto are being cut down.
Coun. Joe Cressy's office says it will investigate whether or not tree protection by-laws were followed.
Waterfront Toronto said they did not cut the trees down. The trees are on their private property not the city's, according to Councillor Cressy's office.
Was told to ask Harbourfront Centre security about why the trees were being cut down. CityNew camera man Alfredo says the cuts look very fresh and recently done.
Multiple other trees still intact so it seems only certain ones were cut. Still no reason as to why.
We are working to get the name of the exact bug that was in the seven trees.
